Here's a 99 year old Morgan silver dollar set in a sterling silver mount to create an unusual pendant. The pendant measures just
over 1 1/2" in diameter (not counting the ring). It weighs 35.8 grams (1.14 troy ounces). On the back there is an engraved design and the date 1954 and "PA- RE". The piece was given to someone in 1954 from PA (perhaps a father) to RE (perhaps the father's child). The silver dollar is from 1921, and the mount was made sometime between 1921 and 1954 when it was engraved.

This is a different type of mounting for a coin - it has a good look. It could be used as a pendant, or worn on a key ring, or even hung from a handbag.
