Here's a solid brass figural tea caddy spoon dating from around 1920. It has an image of Mary Queen of Scots on the handle in her distinctive style of clothing. Tea caddy spoons were used to take the tea out of a tea caddy. The spoon is 4" long by 2" wide at the widest point. It weighs 61.5 grams - nice and heavy. On the back is a registration number. It's too rubbed to read, but you can see the Rd. and a couple of numbers.
Caddy spoons of all sorts were made in great variety. This one is fairly unusual. They are a fun thing to collect.
