Here's a great looking sterling silver and enamel napkin ring from an English masonic lodge. The hallmarks show it was made in 1927 in Birmingham. The applied enamel plaque has a lot of information on it. It reads St. Bartholomew Lodge no. 696. It also has the crest of the lodge and the motto in Latin - "Arte Marte Vigor" (meaning By skill, by iron, by energy). lodge was formed in 1857 and it's still going in a town called Wednesbury in the West Midlands in England. In the photos is one of the lodge building, and another of the lodge crest which is very similar to that on the napkin ring.
The napkin ring is in very good condition and is well made - the 3 color enamel plaque is very nicely detailed and the ring itself has beaded edge along the sides. It's slightly over 1" in width and 1 3/4" in diameter. It's an unusual piece of masonic memorabilia.
