Pond Lily Leaf Nut Bowl - Sterling Silver - William B. Durgin - Circa 1900 - image 1 of 5

Here's a lovely sterling silver dish in the form of a lily pad. It was made by William Durgin of Concord New Hampshire and later Providence Rhode Island. They were in business from 1853 to 1905, and then were bought by Gorham Company and continued production through the 1930's.

The lily pad dish is marked on the bottom with "sterling" and the Durgin maker's mark. It measures 6 1/8" long by 4 1/4" across and it's 7/8" high. It weighs 81.1 grams. The details are very good down to the veins in the leaf, and scalloped edge. The condition is very good. There's only one very slight ding towards the center of the dish.

The dish has a very unusual form and it's quite pleasing as well.
