Here's a very nice example of an antique sugar basket. It is coin silver or 900 silver. It has a swing handle with beautiful repousse leaves and swags. The bowl is gilded and there's a handsome border at the edges. There's a cartouche on each side and one has a monogram "H.L.R.S." in a gothic font - the other is blank. The basket is 6 1/2" long and 6 1/2" high with the handle upright. It's 4 5/8" wide. It weighs 222.5 grams.
An elegant way to serve some chocolate eggs at Easter, or for serving up anything you need a bowl for, even the original use of sugar cubes.
