Here's a wonderful British antique coin holder from the Georgian period. It's made of brass and has 2 facsimile's of a copper farthings on the top and on the bottom. The top shows George lll on a copper plated facsimile and on the bottom is an image of Britannia (the personification of Britain) on a copper plated facsimile.
The piece is spring loaded, and when you press the top and the bottom together the slot opens to put coins in. The holder is 2 1/4" high and 1 3/16" in diameter.
This a very unusual and early coin holder from the Georgian period. The condition is very good for its age. It has a a couple of stains that may come out with further cleaning, but I didn't want to over clean it. It's great.
