Here's a very attractive berry spoon made in London in 1827. The maker's mark on the back is similar to others makers but is very likely William Esterbrook. The spoon has repousse grapes and leaves in the bowl, and has a scalloped edge. The bowl is gilded as well. The handle is hand engraved with another grape design. It is fully hallmarked on the back for sterling silver, 1827 date, made in London, and the maker's mark WE. The spoon is 8 3/4" long and 1 7/8" wide at the widest point. It weighs 77.4 grams - so it has good weight. It is in excellent condition with just one note to mention - there are a few scratches on the back where the handle attaches to the bowl. They are not very noticeable. I have nevertheless taken it into consideration in the price. It looks like someone was testing the silver even though it is clearly marked.
This is a special berry spoon. It is quite elegant and well made.
