For some reason, I keep thinking this is a Venice evening scene--sun set lighting a tower--the buildings have a medieval look. The paint looks like oil, and is dark, but the colors of the red-clouded sky come up well just the same. It may well have been intended to convey half light. It has a gold plated brass rim; the back is brass. It has drum sides and measures 1 & 3/8" large in very fine condition.
