This is a large 1 & 7/16" enamel button with a gilded copper rim and steel back. Within its exquisite borders of gold paillons and pierreries (the green look like jewels) is a reserve containing a scene from nature: a little brown seal in its (supposed) habitat. The reserve has very light scratches and the rim has a teeny ding--negligible. The outer border of swags and sunbursts is especially appealing--such incredibly fine foil--with the emerald green oval pierreries. Ivory enamel pierreries contain the reserve.
