This is a large 1 & 3/8" button of gold-plated brass with a monochrome hand-painted scene under glass of a man passing time beneath a sheltering tree while watching cattle in the pasture. The medium looks like ink and white gouache. The border is fancier than most with stamped or engraved chevrons. Around the inner border are tiny black beads like caviar. The back is gold-plated brass as well, and the button has drum sides, in excellent condition. Moooooooo.
