This is another 18th century hand-painted scene of the estate of the Chateau du Raincy, France, featuring outbuildings (including a folly Swiss chalet) and the pathways used to tour the grounds. The detail is charming and in perfect condition under glass. The rim is gold-plated copper. The artist is believed to be Carmontelle. It measures 1 & 5/8" in excellent condition. There is nothing extant of this fabulous estate, except a small portion of the orangerie. (I have just found out that this "Swiss chalet" is part of the estate's "Russian village", 1754 and later.)
