This is a large 1 & 3/8" late 19th century hand painted enamel button with blue forget-me-nots and a white daisy seeming to glow against a black background--drama in flowers. The daisy flower meaning includes new beginnings, hope, innocence, fun, affection, and other sweet attributes. The forget-me-not means "please call me again". The teeny floret border is jeweled with blue rhinestones (which mean I'm blue if you don't call again). The little sheaf of wheat, perhaps a yellowed sedge, adds a nice touch. It is in excellent condition.
