This is a unique antique "STERLING" Cravat Pin or Stick Pin. It is made of a 1913 U.S. Barber Dime. It shows a face with hair up and a holly garland surround. The face has been pressed out creating a 3D representation. The outer edge is marked "1913 UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". "LIBER" (the TY is missing for LIBERTY) is on the center top hair above the garland. The cravat is nicely done with very clear features. A must for any coin or cravat collector!
On the back for the crescent moon, the pin is stamped "STERLING". The coin is made of 90% silver.
This cravat dates to the Art Nouveau era. It has very nice detail with very clear features. The cravat measures approximately 3 inches long. The coin is 11/16 inch in diameter. It weighs 3.4 grams or 0.12 ounces. The coin as an art piece is in very good condition! The pin was bent and straightened at some time in the past. It does not affect the beauty or wearability of the cravat.
