Vintage (very cool) mid century valise, briefcase, attache', as you might observe used in a drama like "Mad Men" or a spy / mystery show.
This briefcase / valise is a genuine United States Federal issue (official) all leather, Type IV collapsible attache' case. Have some fun and hand cuff it your favorite political envoy. Made by Mutual Brief Case Co. Carries official GS serial number (General Services Administration) and marked as such on reverse side of latch flap (photo).
It has a lift-up internal rigid floor plate. Overall dimensions: 14 inches tall, 16 inches long, 4 1/2 inches wide at base. Classic dark brown finish in very good used condition (minor scuffs). Lightly used. Very good brass fittings and latch. Handle in excellent condition. All seams and stitching appear in excellent condition.
Please check it out. This type and vintage of leather cases is variously offered on multiple sites online for hundreds of dollars. This piece is a fine example of a typical piece of "business" equipment from the early and mid-to-later twentieth century (circa 1920s thru 1970s) -- a VERY nice bargain, we think.
More photos gladly and questions always welcome.
