Triplets (Baby Blue Birds) is an adorable hand painted wood carving with mixed media by contemporary artist, Jim Carpenter. The beautiful little trio measures 8″ high, with the hand crafted base measuring 6" in diameter. Both the sculpture, and the base, is signed and dated by the artist.
Jim Carpenter is an award-winning bird carver who resides in Pfafftown, North Carolina. Jim carves high detail life-like birds which are primarily sold in fine art and craft galleries. He sculpts his birds out of tupelo gum wood and paints with either artist oils or acrylics.
Jim has won numerous “Best of Show” awards at contests across the country and has been juried into fine art shows along with other two and three dimensional works.
Jim teaches bird-carving classes at the Sawtooth Center of Visual Arts in Winston-Salem, NC and the John Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC, as well as many more demonstrations though out the year. He is a member, and currently on the board of directors, of the Piedmont Craftsmen in NC. His sculptures have been on display at the NC Museum of History and the NC Governor’s mansion.
