This is definitely a crowd stopper! The mold on this piece catches your attention. It has a square base with indented channels that swirl up and around from each corner. The spout portion is offset from the base and the double looped handle tops it all off. The artwork by Emma Burst is remarkable. She has started with a cream ground at the base and has used reds, golds, blues and greens around the main motif. Upon the background on one side she has painted deep purple plums and blackberries, mixed with red apples and cherries and a couple of green gooseberries. This wonderful cornucopia of fruit is nested with beautiful different shades and shapes of leaves and branches. Around the fruit the artist has painted three spider webs giving it a wonderful touch. The reverse side Emma has painted rich brick red currants on vines with green leaves mixed in. She has a green and pinkish red background around this smaller motif. She has completed this magnificent piece with hunter green handle, gold rim on the spout and her signature on the side. This piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Manufacturing anomalies may exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
