This antique/Victorian celluloid photo album is stunning plus it’s heavy, weighing over 5.6 lbs. This is one of the prettiest and heaviest albums I have had; it comes from my personal collection.

The front celluloid cover is so beautiful, with two adorable winged young maidens, a winged angel, pink roses & even a frog! Above & below this the album features embossed gold gilt detail along with lavender/pink flowers. The spine is done in mint green, cream & light black velvet, and the back is mint green celluloid. The side had a clasp at one point, but now only features one part. I’m sure the missing clasp became loose & fell off due to the thickness of this photo album. There are 15 double sided photo pages; almost all the slots have either cabinet cards, newspaper clippings or small photos. There are many loose cabinet cards along with smaller photo cards. The inside lower front cover is dated Dec. 27, 1892.

The condition is amazing considering the age. The front celluloid cover has a teensy split (see photo) along with a split (not really a split; it’s as if something sharp hit it) along the outer edge (see pic). There is minor loss to the gold gilt detail. The velvet spine is near mint and the celluloid back has the normal light scratches; nothing deep. There are only a few torn photo slots; most are intact.

This photo album is 15 ¾” long, 7” wide & 1 ¾” deep.

This is a spectacular antique celluloid photo album in fantastic condition, plus it has such a beautiful cover. You couldn’t ask for more.
