Vintage 1960's APSCO "Midget" pencil sharpener. APSCO an acronym for "automatic pencil sharpener company", began its operation in 1905 in Chicago. Spengler-Loomis was the actual owner who had their home office in New York with the manufacturing plant in Chicago. Over the years their product line included the "Chicago", "The Dandy", "The Giant", "The Dexter", "The Junior" and "The Wizard". This 1950's model from the company was marketed with the school student in mind and was a desktop model with a hand crank and twin cutter blades. This model is constructed of both metal and plastic. This model is in excellent working condition with minimal use.
