Art pottery from the University of North Dakota School of Mines (UND) was very collectible by the Arts & Crafts collector. Production of the pottery began in 1904. Margaret Cable became the ceramic department head at the University in 1910 and was one of the most recognized artist in their history. She retired in 1949 and art pottery production for resale was dramatically reduced.

This piece is incised signed by the artist but I can't make out the exact name - looks like G. Ullikson but that's a guess (underneath it is incised with what looks like YEAR but then there is no year actually shown). It is also marked with the UND circular cobalt logo mark.

It is yellow in color and has incised X's all around the upper portion. Measures approx. 3-3/8" high at the ends x 6-3/8" wide x 5-5/8" deep; weighs about 1.75 lbs.

In nice condition with no chips or cracks. Minor production defects mainly in the glaze (mentioned for merely for accuracy).

An interesting shape piece of pottery by a UND artist. Feel free to ask any questions and thank you for visiting my shop on Rubylane.com. International buyers are welcome but MUST have a U.S. mailing address for shipping.
