Really beautiful colored etching (the plate marks are visible to the edges of the image) of a Russian or Eastern European street scene with a church to the background. The picture dates to around the late 40's, is housed in a gilt wooden frame with textured linen mat (from White House Galleries of Roanoke), it is signed to the base in pencil, though I could not make out the signature. The image with frame measures 11" tall by 9" wide, it is in good order with some minor wear to the frame and toning to the paper, it displays well and is a highly competent, elegant and charming small study, rather nicer than the photos suggest, I had trouble with the light giving reflections.
