A really beautiful 24" diameter Arts & Crafts linen doily with hand embroidered floral sprigs, inset lace panels and a lace border. The doily dates to the very early part of last century, it is of a mid weight linen and displays very fine work, it would have been placed on the family dinning table on "special occasions", perhaps with a vase of seasonal flowers. The condition is good considering the age, there are a few small broken bridles in the inset lace, a very light pale stain, and a small repaired tear to one side (see last four photos that detail the issues), these are not particularly noticeable against all the decorative elements, but I have priced accordingly. Despite the faults this is a lovely old doily, perfect for a period house, I am finding that Arts & Crafts linens are increasingly hard to source.......
