This is an excellent exhibition of the fine work produced by the well Jacob Petit who owned one of the most important and well-known porcelain factories in France, and who became one of the major producers of Rococo ornamental wares during the 1830s. His highly decorative porcelain was enormously popular in both England and France and has proven to be well made and designed to endure the test of time.

The vases that these two figurines are holding are pierced on the backside, the tops done in gold. The bases also are pierced and gilded. They are both kneeling on a bed of flowers, and appear to be gazing towards each other. They both stand approximately 10 1/2inches high, and both are in excellent condition. The blue mark "J P" appears (with the appropriate dots) on the inside of the bases which was what he used during the period between 1830 and 1862.

The right hand of the lady and the first finger on the left hand has been repaired. Also, the large flower near the right foot of the Gentleman has been repaired. Aside from these areas mentioned,there is no known or visible damage on them that is not noted.
