A large (8 ¾ in tall) Weller ceramic cabinet vase with a stunning drip pattern.
The molded ceramic vase has an elegant deco shape with a maroon base color and a dripped green over glaze. This has created striking patterns with striations and runs. The vase has a slightly raised, rounded foot with a few unglazed spots. The glaze is thick, smooth and shiny. The mouth rim shows a thinning of the glaze.
The base is glazed and shows a couple of firing spurs marks. The foot shows glaze grinding to smooth the foot. The words Weller Pottery are handwritten on the base in a loose hand.
Weller Pottery of Ohio produced the Turkis line from the late 1920’s until the early 30’s, and had a relatively small production.
5 7/8” (14.9 cm) diameter x 8 ¾” (22.2 cm) tall. Weighs 3 lbs 3.2 oz (1455 g)
There are no cracks, breaks, repairs or chips. The inside of the mouth rim has several tiny glaze frits which resulted from the glaze not adhering well during manufacture.
The simple sleek design will enhance any art deco, arts & crafts and even mid-century décor. It has an amazing depth of color.
