Really beautiful, long Art Deco period c. 1920 sterling silver pierced chandelier earrings with paste stones

Paste stones were created in the 1700s to replicate the sparkle of a genuine diamond. Cutting these stones took just as much skill as was needed for gemstones. Aristocratic ladies had their fine diamond jewelry copied into paste pieces to wear when they traveled.

The earrings are articulated which allows the tassel sections to sway back and forth freely to catch the light and attract the eye

Pierced with 14K white gold posts; modern closures with plastic sleeves have been added to keep the earrings very secure

Marked 14K on each post; touch marks (the mark of the maker, often extremely diminutive in size) on the backs of each tassel
