Really beautiful, long Art Deco period c. 1920 sterling silver pierced chandelier earrings with paste stones
Paste stones were created in the 1700s to replicate the sparkle of a genuine diamond. Cutting these stones took just as much skill as was needed for gemstones. Aristocratic ladies had their fine diamond jewelry copied into paste pieces to wear when they traveled.
Beautifully made; gorgeous style, detail and workmanship
Very nice antique condition with only minor wear commensurate with age and use
The sterling silver earrings are encrusted with very white paste stones that are full of sparkle - they look exactly like diamonds!!
The earrings are articulated which allows the tassel sections to sway back and forth freely to catch the light and attract the eye
Pierced with 14K white gold posts; modern closures with plastic sleeves have been added to keep the earrings very secure
Measures 2.25 inches (5.7 cm) X 5/8 inch (16 mm)
Marked 14K on each post; touch marks (the mark of the maker, often extremely diminutive in size) on the backs of each tassel
A truly special pair of of vintage earrings that is both very wearable and will add elegance to any outfit
