Philip Morris lithographed 100 cigarette tin, circa 1920’s Cambridge size, 5 ½” by 4 ¼”, 1 ½” deep, hinged lid, some gold wear to the edges, tax stamp is worn off, states PM & Co. on each cigarette, interior lid is in excellent condition.
Marlboro flat fifty cigarette cardboard box, 5 ¾” by 4 ½”, ¾” deep, paper hinge is intact, no rips or tears, white background has discoloration and there is wear on the edges of the box. Marlboro were introduced by Philip Morris & Co. Ltd., Inc. in 1925. This box is labeled in red “Ivory Tipped”. In 1930’s the ivory tips were introduced with greaseproof tip to prevent the woman’s lipstick from smearing and in the 1940’s the tips were red to hide unsightly lipstick smudges.
