Tsimshian Portrait Mask by Aaron Horne

Hand carved, hand painted with copper eyes this mask is signed Aaron Horne on the back in pencil “ Tsimpian Portrait Mask Aaron Horne 06” This mask has carved out eye and nose holes, with a leather strap on the back for dancing. Aaron is listed as a dancer in Metlakatla in Alaska and his work is in Galleries there. He comes from a family of carvers. Tsimshian tribal group is from Northern British Columbia and Southern Alaska. This mask is made in 2006 is in fair good condition, some staining, there is a fissure on the cheek, but does not go through, a line on the staining.

It measures 10 inches x 7 ¼ inches wide.
